Danesrath Lodge is a charming villa built in a period style and enjoying a splendid setting where mature gardens overlook pastoral countryside.
Enjoying a central position within its own lands the house looks out over a well laid out formal garden and extensive coloured gravelled drive, to post and railed paddocks and boundary woodland and on towards the distant hills.
Inside the accommodation is well proportioned and benefits from large sliding sash windows and fine tall ceilings giving excellent natural light. In all there is about 375 square metres / 4,036 square feet.
Completed in 2004 the house is most attractive and being in the villa style rests comfortably within its environs and enjoying extensive views over its own lands towards a belt of boundary woodland and the rolling countryside beyond. Danesrath Lodge is situated in a most pleasant pastural setting and being surrounded by its own lands is extremely private. The house is typical of the Georgian villa style in that it is double fronted with the entrance front being northeast facing and a sunny garden front enjoying a southeast elevation. Double French doors open out from both the kitchen and drawing room to a patio area, itself leading on to well-laid out formal gardens with a central ornamental gravelled area and large water-feature.
Beyond this garden are the main grazing paddocks, which lead on to a lower field and to a wood set along the bottom boundary. This wood is one of two planted in hardwoods c.2003 and now well established and including Oaks, Beech, Elm, Ash and Birch.
Situated between Thomastown and Knocktopher villages in an area famed for its natural beauty and perhaps best noted for nearby Jerpoint Abbey and The Mount Juliet Estate. The newly renovated Mount Juliet has a world-renowned golf course and leisure complex along with a plethora of outdoor activities being available that include golfing, angling, clay pigeon shooting and riding (equestrian centre or riding club).
Locally there is choice hunting with the Kilkenny, North Kilkenny, Tipperary, Island, Wexford, Killinick and Carlow packs all within easy boxing distance and many other riding clubs are also nearby. Further golf courses nearby include Kilkenny, Gowran and Callan while the rivers Nore, Barrow and King's river offer fishing by permission / permit.
