Shamrock Lodge is superbly located, set within its own very private mature grounds and yet on the outskirts of Athy town and within a 10 - 15 minute walk of a commuter train station. The train station is on the Dublin to Waterford intercity route, with on average 9 trains per day and travelling time to Dublin ranges between 46 minutes to 1 hour.

Athy is an attractive commercial town located in south west Kildare and one of the main growth centres in the county, as designated under the current County Development Plan. Athy is in a very convenient location in Co. Kildare. The house is on the northern fringes of the town and a short distance to both the N78 and the M9 motorway with Dublin M50 just 45 minutes and Dublin Airport circa 60 minutes driving time. Athy has seen much commuter development over the last number of years and now has a thriving local community, with plenty of amenities, shopping, bars and restaurants.

The sporting enthusiast is well placed with a range of top quality amenities on the doorstep. The Athy Golf Club is within 2 km and further afield is the Heritage Golf Club at Killenard.

Co. Kildare is synonymous with the bloodstock industry, famous for its world renowned stud farms and busy racing calendar. The main race courses are the Curragh, Punchestown and Naas, all within easy driving distance. The keen huntsman has a choice of packs notably the Kildare Foxhounds and the Laois Hunt.

Take N7 from Dublin. From M50 exit at junction 9. Follow N7 for approx. 24.5 km. N7 becomes M7. Stay on M7 for approx. 25 km then veer left on to M9. Follow M9 for approx. 23 km and then take exit 3. Follow signs for new N78 to Athy. Stay on N78 for approx. 10 km then take first left at the roundabout; take a right at the first traffic lights before graveyard onto the Kildare road and Athy golf club. Shamrock Lodge is 600m on the left hand side. There is a light green gate lodge at the entrance.
