Description

An exciting opportunity in a stunning location

Location

The village of Uig is located at the far north east of Skye
on the scenic Trotternish Peninsula. Uig is in a beautiful
protected bay and is one of the key ports for ferries to the

and services. The area is enormously popular with visitors
to Skye. There are lovely walks around the village which

otters and seals. There are numerous outdoor activities
locally, including sea fishing, water skiing, mountain
biking, salmon fishing in the rivers Hinnisdale and
Conon and trout fishing on Loch Mor.

Further Information

Uig Youth Hostel is situated in an elevated position above
Uig and has spectacular views over the bay and Loch
Snizort to Waternish, with the Outer Hebrides beyond.

The accommodation in the property is principally
arranged over one storey and the main reception rooms
have large picture windows which make the very best of the
fabulous views. The entrance vestibule opens to a
reception hall with office and then into an open plan
dining / sitting room. There is also a separate sitting
room with two picture windows overlooking the bay. The
kitchen is designed to cater for visitors and has five gas
cookers, two sinks and a range of kitchen units. The
dormitories are arranged off a central corridor and served
with both male and female washrooms. Ancillary rooms
include a laundry and boiler room.

The Cottage
The cottage is currently used as manager's
accommodation and is accessed by a corridor which links
to the main building. It has a sitting room, two double
bedrooms and a bathroom.

The Annexe
The Annexe is separate to the main building and situated
a few metres away. It consists of three dormitories, a
shower room and a second shower room with wcs.

Outside
The grounds at Uig Youth Hostel amount to about 1.1 acres.
There is a grass lawn to the south west side of the building
and a tarmac parking area to the north west. There is a
spectacular view over the bay from an expanse of the ground
which extends up hill to the east of the property.

SERVICES: Mains electricity and water, private drainage.
LPG central heating in both the main building and the
annexe.

FIXTURE AND FITTINGS: With the exception of
certain items (further details available from the selling
agent), the contents of Uig Youth Hostel will be included
in the sale.

NOTE: SYHA will require the purchaser to enter a
secured agreement whereby SYHA will be paid a
percentage (to be negotiated) of any increase in the value
of the property if planning permission is granted for
change of use of the property, or for development of the
property that involves a change of use (except that change
of use of Uig Youth Hostel to residential purposes will not
be liable to the secured agreement). This arrangement will
last for 10 years from the date of sale. Offers should
confirm that the offering party agrees to this.

heading for Uig. A little under a mile after passing
through the settlement of Earlish, the entrance to Uig
Youth Hostel is signposted on the right just as the road
begins to head down into Uig Bay. The driveway to Uig
Youth Hostel winds up a short but steep incline and
