A STRATEGICALLY LOCATED AGRICULTURAL INVESTMENT ESTATE ON THE URBAN FRINGE CLOSE TO NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
The Dissington Estate is a substantial and strategically located rural estate extending to 2,552 Acres (1,033 Hectares) comprising of largely arable, pasture and woodland, with attractive farmhouses, cottages and both modern and traditional ranges of farm buildings.
The Estate comprises five investment farms, three let on AHA tenancies and two on FBTs. The prevailing soil type is of a slowly permeable, loamy, and clayey composition. The eastern portion, in particular, is well suited to cereal production, as evidenced by the current crop rotation employed by tenant farmers. The western area of the estate is probably more suited for grass production and grazing, plus some arable crops. The amenity and conservation value is enhanced by well established blocks of woodland across the estate.
