About this property

  • The Mews is a delightful and characterful property formed from converted stables and approached over a private, winding drive terminating in a charming courtyard. The former Burton Hill Estate now comprises six properties including the impressive Burton Hill House whose origins date from the early Victorian period and was designed by Gilbert Blount who was greatly influenced by the renowned Gothic Revival architect Augustus Pugin.

Set in a quiet enclave with lovely rural views, the well proportioned accommodation is set over two floors with the majority being on the first floor. Of particular note is the vaulted living room with high ceilings which continue through the principal rooms affording natural light throughout. There is a well equipped kitchen and two of the three bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

The ground floor comprises two rooms, a garden room leading to a conservatory which in turn leads to a private courtyard garden with a small terrace, ornamental pond and colour from a variety of flowers and shrubs. Private parking is also provided.

This is the perfect retreat to escape to at weekends or indeed enjoy all year round, I'm particularly fond of the excellent walking opportunities into the South Downs from the front door.
