Local information

  • Kurfürstenplatz is located in the heart of Schwabing in Munich, around two and a half kilometres north of the city centre. It crosses several streets and tram routes and was named in 1915 in honour of Elector Maximilian II. Emanuel, who was born in Munich in 1662. Within the Schwabing-West district, Hohenzollernstraße runs east-west across the square, crossing Schwabing for around two kilometres.
  • The "Kurfürstenplatz" tram stop for lines 12, 27 and 28 is located directly in front of the building, as is the "Kurfürstenplatz" bus stop for lines 53 and 59.
  • The "Hohenzollernplatz" underground station, which serves lines U2 and U8, is just a 6-minute walk away, with a direct connection to Munich Central Station.
  • The famous Leopoldstraße, a landmark of Schwabing, is only a few minutes' walk away. Leopoldstraße is connected to the underground stations "Giselastraße and Münchner Freiheit" on lines U3 and U6, which offer a direct connection to the city centre.
  • Elisabethmarkt is located in the immediate vicinity, which further emphasises the attractiveness of the area.
  • Belgradstraße leads off to the north, providing a connection to the northern part of the Mittlerer Ring and is approximately two kilometres long. To the south, Kurfürstenplatz splits into Nordendstraße and Kurfürstenstraße, both of which run parallel to Maxvorstadt for around one kilometre.
