About this property

  • Glenordie is a characterful traditional house which has been extended over the years. It is currently empty and requires renovation. Glenordie is a surprisingly large house with plenty of potential in a very accessible location.

The property consists of a sitting room which spans the width of the house, an open plan kitchen/dining room and a garden room. Glazed sliding doors from the garden room lead outside and there is a large bright office / studio / bedroom above. There are two double bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom on the ground floor and three further bedrooms on the first floor.

    Outside
Glenordie comes with about 0.3 acres which includes an enclosed south facing garden. An additional piece of ground opposite the house has space to park a car and access to the Ordie Burn.

There is a charming little section of the Ordie Burn that also comes with Glenordie.

Local information

  • Glenordie is situated at the north end of Luncarty. It is one of a small group of houses which lie between the A9 and the B9099 that connects Luncarty with Stanley. The house is only 4 miles north of Perth city centre, however Luncarty and Stanley both have their own distinct communities. Luncarty (1 mile) has a village shop as well as bowling and football clubs, while Stanley (2 miles north) has a shop and post office, a butcher, primary school and village hall. Perth has a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a concert hall, theatre, art gallery, museum and cinema. The town's leisure facilities also include the Perth Climbing Centre, the Willowgate Activity Centre, Perth Leisure pool, an ice rink and two sports centres. Glenordie is well located for transport links but also for access to scenic countryside. There are local golf courses at the North Inch, Craigie Hill and Murrayshall in Perth as well as courses in Blairgowrie and Dunkeld. Gleneagles and St Andrews are both within easy driving distance of Glenordie. The rivers, hills and lochs of the Perthshire highlands and the Angus Glens are all within easy reach.
  • Perth train station has regular services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and London. Edinburgh Airport is about 50 miles away and there are direct flights from Dundee Airport (30 miles) to London City. There is a primary school in Stanley and secondary schooling in Perth. All distances and travel times are approximate.
