The land at Upper Barrack extends to 191.85 acres (77.64 hectares) or thereby of arable and grazing land arranged over 17 enclosures.
The land is gently undulating in nature and is currently down to pasture for grazing but is capable of growing a range of crops. The fields are of a good size and benefit from stockproof fencing and waterings. The fields are accessed either internally or via the public access road.
The land lies between 90m and 170m above sea level and is classified by the James Hutton Institute for Soil Research as predominantly class 3(2) with a small area of class 4(2) in the middle of the holding. The soils are made up of mineral podzols of the Strichen series.
