Description
Greenhead is a productive arable farm, which extends to about 149 acres in total, with a traditional farmhouse and farm buildings situated centrally within the holding.
The land at Greenhead is classified as Class 3(2) by the James Hutton Institute. It lies between 50m and 110m above sea level. The soils are derived from the Boyndie and Corby series and are predominantly freely draining. The arable fields are of a good workable size with good access to all of them via either the public road or an excellent network of internal tracks.
The owners have predominantly farmed the land in hand in conjunction with another unit. Over recent years the arable land has been in spring barley, principally for malting, with land let out for carrots.
Farmhouse
Greenhead Farmhouse is a traditional farmhouse constructed of harled stone under a pitched slate roof. The farmhouse is approached by a private driveway from the minor public road, which also services the farm buildings, to a courtyard parking area to the rear of the house. To the front of the house is a garden which is laid mainly to lawn and enclosed by a hedge.
The farmhouse has been divided into two apartments. The northern half comprises kitchen, sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor. The southern half is over a single storey and comprises a kitchen, sitting room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
