About this property

  • A handsome Grade II listed family home which has been the subject of an extensive programme of redevelopment, alternation and improvement to provide exceptionally well presented accommodation of 4,000sqft which sympathetically blends the very finest elements of character and contemporary living. Located in this most quintessentially Chiltern's village, the property is situated on a wonderful plot in excess of 1.75 acres which has again been the subject to extensive external landscaping to provide a wonderfully idyllic village lifestyle.

The living accommodation is extremely versatile, comprising reception rooms arranged either side of an open and inviting traditional front to back entrance hall.

The most prominent living space has been created by combining smaller reception areas to form a spectacular open plan kitchen/dining room/family room. This most impressive family living space has been comprehensively re-modelled to tie in superbly with the original features of the house and features a bespoke hand built kitchen of country design.

The kitchen itself comprises an extensive range of floor level and full height units with a feature Aga and large matching central island. A lovely feature bay window and grand open fireplace to the front allow for a perfect informal dining area whilst twin sets of bespoke doors give access to the rear garden.

Located to the other side of the hallway are additional receptions including a living room with feature bay window and open fireplace with wood burning stove, alongside an additional T.V. room, again with feature open fireplace/wood burner and original quarry tiles which overlooks the rear garden.

Adjacent to these two reception rooms there is a further dual aspect family room, part open plan to a cosy snug and with an adjacent cloakroom.

The remainder of the ground floor space comprises a large utility/boot room with further inner hall and adjoined integral garage.

The bedroom accommodation is arranged over the top two floors with four double bedrooms all providing wonderful views, served by two remodelled and well-appointed bath/shower rooms.

The outstanding principal bedroom with en suite shower room makes up the remainder of the first floor, and is accessed through a fitted dressing room.

There are two further bedrooms located on the second floor, separated by a newly created shower room.

A real feature of the property are the idyllic South East facing gardens and grounds which have undergone a dramatic transformation with extensive hard landscaping throughout.

Spanning the rear of the house a private flagstone patio enjoys views over extensive lawns which are divided by mature hedgerows and box hedging which are in turn bordered by well stocked beds and with further seating areas from which to enjoy the gardens. Within these formal gardens there is a lovely summer house/studio.

The remainder of the gardens are designed as an open meadow studded by mature specimen trees providing a glorious sylvan backdrop. Within these gardens there is a traditional Victorian inspired green house and further storage sheds.

To the rear of the plot there is a fully restored synthetic tennis court which is ideal for: tennis, football, cricket, netball/basketball as well as an all weather play area. The court also enjoys a pleasant outlook onto open farmland.

To the front of the property there is gated courtyard parking area providing ample parking and giving access to the garage.
