***CLOSING DATE WEDNESDAY 29TH MARCH AT 12:00PM*** Fully restored 17th century house with south facing courtyard garden
24 South Street is an historic 17th century house which is built of white harled stone under a pitched slate and clay pantile roof. The house was restored by the St Andrews Preservation Trust to its former 17th century plan in 1973. It received The Saltire Society Award for Reconstruction in 1973 and Civic Trust Heritage Award in 1975. Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, visited the house at the awards presentation.
The house was further upgraded by the present owners in 2021. They re-decorated and laid new carpets, upgraded the electrics, installed new light fixtures and added a laundry cupboard. In the kitchen they added an ice maker and corner shelves. On the first floor they added a shower, new tiles and new fixtures to the bathroom and installed a small refrigerator and shelves to the drinks cupboard. On the second floor they installed a Velux Sun Tunnel to light the landing and converted the store into a dressing room closet with a skylight and shelves.
Outside they painted the exterior walls, windows and doors, repaired some windows and areas of the roof and added a trellis fence in the garden. They installed a new shower in the Garden Room.
The accommodation is cleverly laid out so that the all of the windows to the main rooms look out over the property's own, south facing garden. The accommodation is arranged on three floors and comprises:
Entrance hall with period cupboards and coat hooks. Inner hall with slate flooring and under stairs cupboard. Utility room with cupboard containing Bosch washing machine and dryer. WC and wash basin.

Trellis fencing above the wall gives the garden privacy.
