The land is classified by the James Hutton Institute for Soil Research as Class 4.2 & 5.2 on the brow of Law Hill. From the top there are exceptional panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

    FORESTRY
    Interspersed across much of the land are a number of mature hardwood trees which provide good shelter and cover for livestock. On the northern side of Law Hill there is a parcel of mature trees for which a felling licence has been applied for. In addition to the existing woodland there is potential, subject to gaining the relevant consents and permissions, for further afforestation (native or commercial) on the land. The A91 public road, which runs to the south of the land is an 'Agreed Timber Haulage Route'.
