About this property

  • Set within this prime Islington road this house offers wonderful family accommodation. The elegant modern double reception on the raised ground floor has working shutters back and front and a wood burning stove to the rear. Stairs lead you down to the half landing with a wonderfully useful study with ample storage and access to the rear garden.

At the rear of the garden is a beautifully presented office, perfectly designed with wood and glass sliding doors to fit within the surrounding garden areas.

The dining room and modern kitchen are on the lower ground floor and both have great light. There are steps down to this level at the front of the house.

The family bathroom on the half landing has again been very cleverly designed for family use with wonderful storage. On the first floor are two double bedrooms. Local information

  • Barnsbury is a residential suburb in the London Borough of Islington. Set between the regenerated Kings Cross quarter and Angel, the area was home to Tony Blair and the birth of New Labour before Mr Blair made the trip across town to Downing Street.
  • Housing stock is a mixture of beautiful Georgian and Victorian townhouses, with some Edwardian stock and a scattering of new developments, including some of the most prestigious portered developments in North London. One of the delights of the area is the lack of uniformity in housing and street layout, with the southern section of Thornhill Road a prime example of how the area has developed organically, but in an extremely aesthetically pleasing fashion.
  • Barnsbury Wood, a small nature reserve, which can be accessed from Crescent Street, is home to a selection of sycamore, ash and elder trees which provide a home to a variety of wildlife, and there is a selection of open spaces and garden squares in the area, almost all of which are open to the public.
  • The area features some of the most prestigious property in Islington, and some of the most beautiful streets, with Ripplevale Grove, Barnsbury Square and Lonsdale Square among the most sought-after addresses. Traditional English pubs serving upscale gastro fare to well-heeled clients mix with some more cutting edge offerings closer to Upper Street, and it is this mix of the traditional English charm on the doorstep of the bustle and international flavours of Upper Street and Kings Cross which lend the area much of its appeal.
