About this property

  • This spacious family home is nestled in the corner of a quiet cul-de-sac situated on a corner plot of approximately 1/3 acre overlooking the lake at Pickmere.

Entrance to the property is via a large driveway which can easily accommodate several cars not to mention the double garage providing the additional space for vehicles or storage.

Once in the property, there is an impressive hallway with oak flooring and a central staircase providing access to the upper floor. There is a downstairs cloakroom located off the entrance hall along with a useful cloak cupboard.

The beautiful kitchen really is the heart of this family home and has been decorated stylishly to a high specification. Made by Plain and Simple of Knutsford, the kitchen has a large central island with breakfast bar area and integrated wine rack. There are a range of wall and base units including a countertop cupboard and integrated appliances along with a Belfast sink. There is space for an Aga with tiled splash backs and mantel over as well as space for large American fridge freezer.

There is space for a large breakfast table which overlooks the patio area and gardens.

A separate utility leads off from the kitchen area allowing side access to the garden and also to the garage.

There is a spacious garden room and dining area to the rear of the property offering truly magnificent views over the rear garden down towards the lake. A large atrium style roof ensures that this room is very light and offers an area of calm and tranquility. Patio doors across the rear of the property ensure that on nice days you can move freely between your indoor and outdoor space.

There is a snug to the rear of the garden room presenting the ideal space for cosy nights. There is a more formal lounge also off the garden room which has a working fireplace and double doors leading in to the study but this could as easily be turned in to a playroom if required.

To the upper level, the principal bedroom has stunning views over the lake along with fitted wardrobes and a luxurious en suite bathroom complete with Villeroy and Boch suite.

The second bedroom also has the benefit of an en suite and views on to the lake with the third bedroom currently being used as a home office but offers ample space to be used as a traditional bedroom once more.

Two further guest bedrooms can be located to the front of the property and are situated down a separate corridor with their own bathroom to share which is ideal to use for older children or for when guests come to stay.

The outdoor space comprises an established garden which is predominantly laid to lawn to the sides and rear with planted borders and shrubs. There is a flagged patio area also to the rear and side providing space for al fresco dining along with room for a hot tub if desired.

There is a useful storage area to the side for kayaks and other outdoor equipment for those who enjoy water sports on the lake or to simply store garden furniture when required.

In addition, there is planning permission currently in place to extend this property in to the garage to make over 4000 sq ft. The current footprint is approximately 3700 sq ft.

This family home is really worth a visit for not just its wealth of space and elegant decor but also for its absolutely stunning views across the lake and surrounding fields.

There is planning permission in place to extend the property further by converting the garage in to accommodation as well as creating a new garage. Details of this can be found on the Cheshire East Council planning site.
