    About this property

    • Penmarie is a substantial detached property, originally constructed in the 1930s of block cavity and render under a tiled roof with later additions during the 1980s. In 2016 there was a complete renovation when the house was rewired, replumbed and replastered. The kitchen and bathrooms were also renovated as well as a new boiler and water system.

The front entrance opens into a wide hall with a wooden floor that is throughout the ground floor. To the right is the triple aspect living room, a large space with an additional sunroom extension with sliding doors opening out to the wide elevated patio and a splendid view of countryside and the sea. A wood burner provides cosiness.

Next, is a fully tiled shower room with heated towel rail. Across the hall is the games room /snug, double aspect and naturally well-lit with a large bay window.

Adjoining is a south facing double bedroom with access to the loft area which, with a Velux window is a light, versatile space.
The kitchen opens to the patio with sliding patio doors. The dining area accommodates a large family table (seats 10) and the fully fitted kitchen has integrated modern appliances and contrasting pale cream units with black worktops. A wide island incorporates a wine cooler.

Beyond is the utility, also with the fitted units and colour scheme, a large, useful area with a shower and a half-glazed door out to the drive and garage.

The staircase from the hall turns to the first floor landing, naturally lit by a large window. A double bedroom has good floor to ceiling storage and is dual aspect with east and south facing windows. The bathroom has a heated towel rail and a shower above the bath. The large principal bedroom has French doors to a Juliet balcony and an impressive view of the sea, Port Isaac and along the coast to the Rumps. The adjoining en suite bathroom has a freestanding bath, large modern shower, large feature radiator and an equally good sea view.

Penmarie has a gravelled driveway with plenty of off-road parking and a separate single garage. To the rear, there is a generous enclosed garden with an elevated patio terrace, a built-in BBQ area and a summerhouse that houses a hot tub and benefits from an external shower.

Penmarie offers a good opportunity to secure an additional building plot with approved planning permission for a two-storey 4-bed detached property with far-reaching sea views. The property will provide a double-height open plan living/kitchen/dining room, a utility room, 4 double bedrooms (2 with en-suites), a family bathroom and a study. The property will also include front and rear decking to enjoy the picturesque views. Plans are available on request.
