  • Hilltown of Mause has a wonderfully peaceful rural setting. Situated on a gentle hillside and at the end of a private driveway the house has uninterrupted views south over the Vale of Strathmore and north towards the Angus Glens. Although Hilltown of Mause is very rural, it is only about three miles from the centre of Blairgowrie.
  • Blairgowrie is a thriving and well serviced town with two supermarkets, a selection of independent shops, and some excellent restaurants as well as medical, banking, legal and postal services. For a more comprehensive selection of shops and professional services, Perth and Dundee are both within about 22 miles. Dundee Airport (about 20 miles) has flights to London Stansted, and Edinburgh Airport (about 59 miles) has a wide range of domestic and international flights. In terms of schooling, there is primary and secondary schooling in Blairgowrie from where buses also run to The High School of Dundee and Craigclowan Preparatory School in Perth. Private education at Glenalmond, Ardvreck, Strathallan and Kilgraston are all within about 30 miles of Hilltown of Mause.
  • Hilltown of Mause could hardly be better placed for those who enjoy the outdoors. The Perthshire hills and Angus Glens rise up to the north and amongst numerous walks accessible directly from the house is the Cateran Trail which passes just to the west. There is salmon fishing on the rivers Ericht, Ardle, Blackwater and Tay and shooting and stalking is readily available for rent on nearby estates. Golfers will enjoy the championship courses at Blairgowrie as well as courses at Alyth, Strathmore and Glenisla to name a few. The ski slopes of Glenshee are about 22 miles north.

  • Directions: From Blairgowrie, follow the main road east towards Alyth. After crossing the River Ericht, follow the road up the hill and turn left onto the A93 signposted to Glenshee and Braemar. Follow this road for about 2 miles, taking the first turning on the left off the main road (about half a mile after crossing over the River Ericht again). Immediately after turning off the main road, turn right and then first left up the private driveway to Hilltown of Mause .
