A prime detached chalet boasting 500sqm, in heart of Morzine

About this property

  • A superb opportunity to purchase a substantial chalet in the heart of Morzine centre. A rare chalet to the market to be in such a prime position with a large rear garden on a superb plot of land.

The chalet is located on a small side road in a tranquil part of Morzine just 300m from the centre. This area has often been regarded as the most prime area of Morzine given its accessibility to the centre and amount of sun it receives.
The chalet sits back away from the road with car access to the rear with a double garage. The land to the rear of the chalet is currently overgrown but with a bit of work this could provide a superb garden of some 300sqm.

The chalet itself is built over 3 main levels. It is of concrete construction throughout including all floors which provides the ability to change and adapt the chalet to your personal choice. Each level is around 170sqm which provides a Gross area of some 500sqm. Once we have taken the area out on the top floor which is under 1.8m in height you would still have around 425sqm of habitable space. This does not
include the double garage or the vast amount of storage in the basement level.

The potential for this chalet is immense. It already commands the perfect position with the large garden
but does need a full renovation to reach the potential it so deserves. Floors can be removed to allow huge double height areas to the living areas together with the addition of more glass.

Local information

  • Morzine, in the Portes du Soleil, has become one of the most popular ski resorts in The Alps for families due to its proximity to Geneva airport (80km), relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere and access to 650km of pistes. The town has a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants and benefits from a recently built (2012) swimming and sports complex with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a patinoire.
  • With 650km of slopes to enjoy across the Portes du Soleil, there is something to cater for all abilities; from the wide, groomed pistes in Les Gets and Mont Chery to the steeper more challenging slopes in Avoriaz and Chatel. Cross-border skiing is also on offer and the world famous "Swiss Wall" is a real challenge for expert skiers. In addition to the fantastic range of skiing available, the panoramic views are some of the most breath-taking in The Alps; the view of Mont Blanc from the top of the Chamossiere is simply stunning.
  • Further to the popularity of the resort in the winter months, the Portes du Soleil offers an extensive list of summer activities including mountain biking, paraponting, mountaineering, golf, hiking and horse riding. Some of the lifts are open in the summer allowing access to the mountains throughout the year.
