A charming period cottage with larger than average garden, numerous outbuildings and off street parking.

About this property

  • This deceptively spacious period property is being offered for sale for the first time in its history having been part of the Escrick Park Estate since its construction in the late 1800's. A classic red brick Victorian workers cottage, the property would benefit from a degree of modernisation but retains a great deal of character.

The property stands at the end of a short terrace of similarly styled houses, a driveway to the rear leads to two separate access driveways, one currently serving as an off street parking area, the other servicing the range of outbuildings. There is a brick outbuilding to one side, currently used for storage and a workshop but with potential for further development (subject to planning permission), and several other timber sheds on the other providing plenty of additional storage space. The well tended gardens extend to the north and east, bordered by mature hedges, several lawned areas are flanked by a mix of contrasting shrubs and bushes.

The accommodation is arranged over two floors, the ground floor comprising of a well balanced sitting room and family room, both with original windows and fireplace and a well equipped kitchen/breakfast room to the rear. The first floor provides three bedrooms all with vaulted ceilings and a family bathroom.

I think that this is not just a pretty cottage, this one has a large mature garden and some versatile outbuildings.
