About this property

  • Craig Eiridh is a charming detached 19th century villa situated in a breathtaking position on the northern shore of Loch Nevis in the Western Highlands of Scotland. Recognisable for its picturesque and secluded location to many who have crossed by on the ferry to Inverie, the sale of Craig Eiridh offers a rarely available opportunity to acquire a lovely property in a spectacular setting.

The well-presented four bedroom family home has exceptional views which regularly showcase active wildlife, often witness to otters, herons, dolphins, gannets and oystercatchers.

The generous accommodation is finished to a high standard throughout, while many original Victorian features have been carefully preserved, including decorative plasterwork, high ceilings and large windows. The entrance hall begins with a sweeping staircase with the elegant dining room and large sitting room off, both with bay windows framing the outstanding views of the loch and hills beyond.

The well-equipped kitchen leads to a welcoming family room which is the heart of the home. Extended around 2011, this additional space offers gorgeous dual aspects, patio doors out to the garden and a wonderful area in which to relax around the wood burning stove. A utility room, bathroom, walk in larder and conveniently large drying room complete the ground floor. There are four double bedrooms on the first floor centred around a large landing. There are two bathrooms on this level each with bath and separate shower, one of which has a freestanding bath perfectly elevated to take advantage of the views.

To the west of the house, there is a large L-shaped boathouse with wood store, laundry room and standby generator along with a gravelled parking area. The gardens extend up and beyond the property to approximately 10 acres of hill woodland which include the foreshore across the public road from the garden ground. The immediate gardens are very well maintained and mainly laid to lawn with a variety of mature trees, plants and shrubs.

Whether you are a wildlife enthusiast, avid hill walker or simply looking for an idyllic retreat, Craig Eiridh is a fantastic opportunity which is hard to replicate.

When I first visited Craig Eiridh, I stood at the bedroom window and watched in awe as an otter caught a fish and brought it up onto the shore, feet away from the house. This is a small snippet of the kind of views Craig Eiridh has to offer!
