About this property

  • Woodland House is a handsome detached house, with part tile hung elevations under a tiled roof. It is believed to date from the 1950s, with subsequent additions, and offers spacious, generously proportioned accommodation arranged over two floors.

The property has been recently refurbished and redecorated, including the installation of a new kitchen and new bathrooms throughout, and the first floor has been reconfigured to create an impressive principal suite.

The result is a beautifully presented and spacious house which is ideally suited to modern family life, with neutral décor including oak doors throughout, light and spacious living space, and wood flooring to most of the ground floor.

The 26 ft L-shaped sitting room is dual aspect, with bi-fold doors to the rear terrace and a wood burning stove fitted; it is a superb room which is ideal for entertaining and for relaxed, day to day life.

There is a dining room, with an adjoining conservatory, this has recently been reboarded and can be used as a family room or study. Beyond the dining room is a spacious fitted kitchen, with an excellent range of light grey wall-hung and under counter units, with a contrasting dark blue island and breakfast bar, all under solid oak worktops. Appliances include an electric Nexus range cooker with extractor over, under counter fridge, and an integrated dishwasher. There is space for a fridge freezer. To the rear is a utility/boot room, and a cloakroom.

On the first floor, the principal bedroom suite comprises dressing room with fitted wardrobes, double aspect bedroom and an en suite with walk-in shower.

At the other end of the house is a further suite with fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom, with free standing bath and separate walk -in shower. There are two further bedrooms, served by a family bathroom.

The outside space is a particular feature of the property, with a wide and deep driveway to the side of the front lawn, offering parking for multiple vehicles. The front door is sheltered by an open porch, and there is an integrated garage with an electronically operated door, plumbing for washing machine and a recently refitted shower room serving the pool.

The rear garden is fully enclosed, with a gate offering side access, leading past a timber shed and a timber framed greenhouse.

The large, west facing decked terrace spans the rear elevation, with access from all rooms, giving space for eating and entertaining al fresco. The adjoining heated outdoor swimming pool is fully fenced, with a decked surround offering plenty of space for loungers. The pool machinery is housed in a small brick and timber outbuilding.

The remainder of the full enclosed rear garden is mainly laid to lawn, with timber machinery/garden store with power connected. Beyond the garden is around six acres of ancient woodland.

    In all, about eight acres.

This house has been lovingly renovated by the owners, and I love that the large garden stretches out into the beautiful woodland owned by the property.
