  • Lake Cottage was built in 1866 and has previously been occupied by the ornithologist, Peter Scott (Grandson of Scot of Antarctic), and is believed to have been the inspiration of Peter Pan, written by Peter Scott's Godfather, JM Barrie. It is of flint and brick construction under a reed thatch and was extended in 1920 to include a two storey brick annexe.
