About this property

  • Flint Cottage is a very handsome family house of brick and flint construction under a clay tiled roof. The property has been extended over the years and now offers practical and charming family accommodation of about 3,540 sq ft in the main house, plus the garage and the external room and flat. There are delightful open fireplaces with attractive surrounds in both the dining room and drawing room. The dining room benefits from a bay window overlooking the garden, and French doors opening to the terrace. Upstairs offers a principal bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a further four bedrooms, two of which are en suite, and a family bathroom. Our clients have had the house for 30 years, in which time it has been proudly kept and cherished, but would benefit from some updating.

The drive approach arrives at a large parking area to the east/front of Flint Cottage, with the garage block and integral flat to the left. To one side, an area of lawn with an orchard and hedging run along side the village lane. The principal garden lies to the rear and starts with a wonderful terrace accessed via double doors from the dining room and drawing room and a glazed door from the reception hall. Facing south-west, this is a wonderfully sunny terrace, giving way to lawn interspersed with beautiful topiaried hedging and shrubbery. Mature and varied herbaceous borders and lavender borders provide great colour and variety to the rear garden, again well screened on either side from its neighbours and encouraging you to look west towards the paddock and the view. The second larger paddock is accessed via a gate off an adjoining bridleway.
