About this property

  • The Landers is a beautifully presented, black and white timber family home, dating back to the 17th century. Originally two farmworker's cottages which over the years have been combined into one long and spacious Cotswold home, thoughtfully renovated and extended by the current owners to suit a modern family lifestyle.

The property is currently being used as a successful holiday home which sleeps 10 guests over two floors with lovely period features and an outdoor swimming pool. The accommodation briefly comprises; Entrance hall with a beautiful oak front door leading to two characterful reception rooms, a cosy living room overlooking the front aspect with open stone fireplace, wooden floors and traditional beams. The lovely dining room features the original inglenook fireplace, with an open fire and plenty of room to entertain with stairs leading to a superb guest bedroom, dressing room, a modern shower room and the 5th bedroom.

The dining room opens to a separate sitting room, perfect for relaxing which has lovely views to the main garden and gives access to a useful utility room. The generous, modern well equipped kitchen/breakfast room benefits from a range of integrated appliances, polished stone floor with underfloor heating and overlooks the swimming pool and patio area. The kitchen area leads to a downstairs cloakroom and spiral staircase to the 1st floor accommodation.

The first floor landing leads to three double bedrooms, bedroom one features an impressively high vaulted, A-frame roof with original, exposed beams and stone chimney breast. Completing the upstairs accommodation is a stylish modern bathroom with a separate shower cubicle and a freestanding Victorian-style roll-top bath.

Outside the Landers has approx. ¾ acre of garden with a driveway leading to a large graveled parking area and garage accessed via a gated private driveway off Ermin Way. The large lawn area has lovely shrub boarders and mature trees. To the front of the house is a pretty English-cottage garden with roses and lavender and a pathway to the main front entrance.

And, finally, the property's great attraction for late spring and summertime is the 9.6m x 3.5m swimming pool and pool garden. The poolside garden has a lawn, a large patio perfect for alfresco dining.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage with contemporary finish and traditional feel. I love the private gardens and swimming pool.

  • Cheltenham is famed as one of the most complete Regency towns in England and historically the original and most fashionable spa. Less than a hundred miles from London it nestles beautifully between the Cotswold Hills and the Wye Valley, and is home to numerous prestigious schools including Cheltenham College, Cheltenham Ladies College, Dean Close and Pates Grammar.
