About this property

  • Green Farm House is a six-bedroom Grade II listed farmhouse, which has been owned by the same family for 55 years. The timber framed core of this traditional, detached, hall house was built in the 1600s.

    Ground Floor:-
Enter through a stable door into a large red-flagstone floored breakfast room, with a light-filled kitchen to one side. From the breakfast room, you walk through into a dining room that has a serving hatch to the kitchen. Stepping from the dining room, you reach the heart of the house - a hall with a wide staircase. Continue through to the drawing room. The chimney is still open behind the current electric fire. Back into the hall and along the passage to other rooms, which comprise of a study, and a hall with cupboards. This part of the house was extended in the 80s to include a further reception room, with French doors to the gardens and wood-burner.
    Uptstairs :-
Either side of the main landing, there are two large double bedrooms with storage cupboards. From the main landing you are able to walk through a dressing area to the principal double-aspect bedroom, with a bathroom. Returning to the main landing, there is a passage to reach a family bathroom, two single bedrooms and another very large bedroom.

The house is approached over a drive and continues to the back of the house to a large area for parking. There is a brick outhouse to the side of the drive, which is divided into two rooms with a rear store and adjoining wooden store. The traditional Suffolk barn has side store/workshops and also houses the swimming pool filtration unit. There is a further range of outbuildings, including a piggery/store and cart shed which is opposite the vegetable garden.

The gardens surround the house with some attractive trees and shrubs. There is an enclosed swimming pool area with a paved surround and a summerhouse. To the rear of the barn is a run of water storage tanks for garden irrigation and several fruit trees. Beyond the garden is a paddock of about .75 acres, which contains the old orchard.

Main electricity, water, and drainage. Oil fired central heating and solar panels on the roof.

Green Farm House is a really welcoming home. I love the layout which flows so well throughout the house. The outbuildings, land and pool combine really well creating a great family home.
