    About this property

    • Cherry Tree Cottage is a charming detached Cotswold stone cottage situated in the heart of one of the North Cotswolds most popular and thriving villages. The property dates from about 1750 and was extended in the 1970's to the rear.

The current owners purchased the property in 2012 and carried out a substantial and comprehensive programme of refurbishment including re-plumbing, re-wiring and the installation of gas central heating. The kitchen and en suite bathroom/dressing room above were added using locally quarried Cotswold stone. The well-presented accommodation is set out over two floors with solid oak floors where fitted. The pretty porch welcomes you to the property and onwards into the entrance hall.

There is a charming dual aspect sitting room with a large fireplace housing a wood burning stove. Double doors lead to a useful office while a glazed door opens to the garden. At the front of the house is a generous dining room with a stone fireplace. The dining room opens into the country-style kitchen with a range of fitted cabinets and plenty of room for a good sized table and chairs. Adjoining the kitchen is a well-equipped utility room. Accessed from the dining room is a lovely garden room with a roof lantern and anti-warp engineered oak flooring. Double doors lead out to the garden. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a guest cloakroom.

The triple aspect principal bedroom is generous in size with steps down into a dressing room which leads to a well-appointed en suite bathroom room. Bedroom two benefits from fitted wardrobes and has direct access to the family bathroom.

The wonderful gardens are a particular feature of the property. A pedestrian gate provides access to the colourful front garden and onwards to the front door. The main garden lies to the rear and has been beautifully landscaped using local stone. Steps lead up to the lawned area which is surrounded by well-stocked borders and specimen trees. There is a pretty summerhouse and a large pergola which is the perfect place for al fresco dining. There is also a useful shed. Ample parking for several cars lies to the side of the property and is accessed through timber gates.

Full planning consent has been obtained to construct a garden studio with kitchenette and shower room under reference 18/03886/FUL dated 28 November 2018. This consent is in place until November 2021.

I love the space and finish throughout this cottage, it feels like home. The garden is like something from a children's book ..... magical.
