    About this property

    • This charming traditional period farmhouse is very privately situated on the edge of this quiet North Wiltshire village and built in the vernacular style of the local Cotswold stone under a Cotswold stone roof. Internally the house has excellent family accommodation and maintains a number of period features throughout including beamed ceilings and flagstone floors which run through much of the ground floor.

The front door opens into a large light hallway with a fitted bookcase and cloakroom to the right. At the end of the hall is the kitchen/breakfast room fitted with a number of wall and floor units with a large five oven Aga as well as direct access into the garden. A door opens through to a larder and double garage. Leading from the hall is a dining room that has an impressive fireplace with views across the garden. Beyond this is a large, light drawing room with front doors to the terrace at the rear of the property. There is a useful study as well as a cosy sitting room with an open fire and dual aspect windows allowing for an abundance of natural light.

On the first floor is a large master suite with dressing room and en-suite. There are three further bedrooms one of which is served by the family bathroom and the remaining two (accessed via a separate staircase) by a bathroom and a cloakroom. A further staircase from the landing leads to the second floor where there are two useful attic rooms.

Church Farm is approached off a long gravelled drive with parking to the front of the house for a number of cars. The property is surrounded by delightful mature gardens that are mostly laid to lawn with a variety of established trees and shrubs. The herbaceous borders are stocked with an array of well-established plants. There are two paddocks as well as a tennis court. There is a stable yard comprising three stables and a tack room as well as a useful garage/store which, subject to necessary consents being obtained, could be put to a number of different uses.
