Situated on the east bank of the Kingsbridge and Salcombe Estuary, this popular and pretty village is home to a long sandy beach with hidden coves and rock pools, backed by woodland and coastal paths. The village offers a lovely farm shop/café at Village Farm whilst Port Waterhouse offers a range of amenities including boat moorings, parking, storage and maintenance and it also hosts pop-up events. Also operating from Port Waterhouse is Salcombe Watersports offering paddle boarding and and sea kayak adventures. A school bus service runs from East Portlemouth to Kingsbridge and there are also excellent pubs in the neighbouring villages of East Prawle and South Pool. The stunning waterside town of Salcombe is East Portlemouth's closest neighbour and is accessible via a short passenger ferry ride available 365 days a year. Salcombe is renowned for its sailing and boating facilities and is located beside one of the most beautiful estuaries in the South West, with miles of sheltered waters and fine sandy beaches. The town offers wonderful independent shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
