    About this property

    • Acquiring this property is comparable with owning a piece of Mallorca itself, and not just any piece, for the property actually includes part of the Puig del Tomir mountain, the highest peak in the Pollença area.

Located in the lovely Mortitx area, just past the Vall d'en March and very close to the famous local vineyard with the same name, the "Posesión de Muntanya" must be one of the most well conserved 15th century Mallorcan manors on the island. It is said to date back to the 15th century but some believe that it was built by the moors nearer the 13th century.

The main building has been completely refurbished. On the ground floor is the enormous entrance area leading to one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a generous sitting room area, a huge dining room and an open, completely refurbished kitchen.

All areas have their own living rooms and direct access to outside, all with extraordinary views to the mountains and even to the Puig Tomir, one of the highest mountains on Mallorca.

On the first floor are 5 double bedrooms, 3 with their en-suite bathrooms and 2 with his and her bathrooms. All the bedrooms are arranged around a large sitting room with a spectacular fireplace. The views to the mountains from some bedrooms or to the sea from the others are just amazing.

Attached to the main house is not only a guest house and a toilet, but also a building that used to be a barn where hay and food for the animals was stored and then there is an oil press which is still intact. This oil press is very well conserved and with all the original parts still in place. Opposite is a large garage for tractors and a small cottage like building where wood is stored for the winter. There is also another small building with the Mallorcan oven. Set apart from the house is a ruin that can also be converted in a comprehensive sized guest house.

The land itself merits a description of its own: the property covers over 350 hectares, and access to the main house is via a private lane 1km away from the main road to Lluc. There are a lot of fertile areas ideal for starting a vineyard, something common in this area thanks to the climate conditions. There are 2 fresh water springs and fountains on the property, that supply it with vast amounts of water, a spectacular orchard, a path that leads to the Puig Tomir mountain and an old road that leads to the Binifaldo bottling plant. The views speak for themselves, on a clear day you can even see Menorca on the horizon. A vineyard has been planted a few years ago and the land has been look after with great care.
