Land
The land extends to approximately to 31.95 acres (12.93 hectares) and is presently growing grass for haylage and grazing with a block of mature woodland on the eastern boundary. The land is classified as Grade 3 and 4 on the Provisional Agricultural Land Classification Map with the soils forming part of the Holme Moor soil series. The former is described as well drained, calcareous coarse and fine loamy soils with the latter described as deep stoneless naturally very acid, fine sandy soils.
The land is of a good quality and capable of growing a wide variety of crops including winter cereals, potatoes, sugar beet and some field vegetables. Two fields are due to be cultivated and drilled with carrots. A period of holdover shall be required across these fields until they are lifted which is expected to be in October 2024.
The land lies flat with good access from the central farm track, the fields are divided by post and rail fencing. The woodland has been actively managed by the vendors under their ownership.
