Location
Four commercial glasshouses including workshops, offices, storage and loading area.
Leythorne Nurseries comprise a series of glasshouses with associated storage and distribution facilities on a mixed horticultural, food production and commercial estate in a highly accessible location in southeast England. Leythorne North Glasshouses comprise the northeast sector of the overall estate and has been operated by The Summer Berry Company UK since 2019. The glasshouses adjoining the Leythorne North site to the west and south are operated by Fresca and are currently used for leafy salad production. These glasshouses were originally held under the same ownership, and this is reflected in some of the shared access and service arrangements. The southern part of the Leythorne site is also occupied by The Summer Berry Company UK but is separate in location from the Leythorne North Glasshouses and is being retained by The Summer Berry Company UK. Following a strategic review, The Summer Berry Company UK has invested significantly in their glasshouse offering; including an energy and heat network that covered the entire southern area but did not extend beyond to the adjoining glasshouses to Leythorne North. The Leythorne North Glasshouses are therefore now being offered for sale. Although currently utilised for growing strawberries, blackberries and raspberries, the Leythorne North Glasshouses are suitable for growing a variety of other crops such as lettuces, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, flowers or hardy perennial plants. With the range of ancillary offices adjoining the glasshouses, the Leythorne North Glasshouses would be suitable for a new horticultural enterprise, or an existing business wishing to operate it as a standalone site or for incorporation into a larger regional or national business.
