About this property

  • Highfield Lodge is an impressive modern house laid out over two principal floors with an additional bedroom and games room on the upper floor, the whole extending to approximately 5,192 sq ft. Of mainly brick, part rendered elevations beneath a tiled roof, the property enjoys a commanding position at the top of a private gated and brick pillared drive, and has a wide parking and turning area leading to the integral triple garage.

Completed approximately ten years ago by the vendors to a high specification, the property has been well maintained throughout and incorporates a heat recovery system, underfloor heating over two floors, an integrated Control4 Home Automation system, Rako scene control lighting and many of the curtain fittings are electronically operated. The spacious and versatile accommodation flows from the reception hall and connects directly to the garden from three sets of bi-fold doors at the rear. The reception hall with its impressive principal staircase (and guest cloakroom) incorporates a study area and leads to the principal reception rooms. The drawing room has a central fireplace with a stone surround, woodburner as well as doors to the rear garden, and the double aspect dining room sits to the front.

The hall leads to the impressive part-vaulted kitchen/breakfast room, with views to the front and rear, and is understood to have been designed (along with the bathrooms) by Max Spencer Morris of Design Republic. The kitchen area is fitted with an extensive range of gloss fronted storage cupboards and there is a large central island with a raised breakfast bar at one end. Appliances include three Siemans ovens (regular, steam and combi), dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, wine cooler and a hot water tap. The light filled vaulted breakfast area provides space for a table overlooking the gardens and is tiled throughout. Beyond is a snug/playroom/study (depending on one's needs), a second cloakroom, a utility room and a boot room with dog shower and external side door. There is access beside the second staircase to the INTEGRAL TRIPLE GARAGE with electric doors and the controls for water harvesting and irrigation systems.

On the first floor there are four impressive bedroom suites, a family bathroom and a CINEMA ROOM (or sixth bedroom) which is situated above the garage and has an adjacent kitchenette. The second floor provides a vaulted bedroom and games room or work from home space with deep Velux windows, and a storage room.

There is a sweeping resin bonded drive with electric gates and a considerable parking area to the front beside the garaging. There is also a useful electric car charging point at the property. The delightful gardens surround the house with a wide terrace immediately to the rear allowing for alfresco dining together with an additional circular paved area. The gardens are planted with a variety of shrubs and there are a number of mature, protected trees. To the far side of the garden is a useful garden store. Post and rail fencing to the rear boundary allow for spectacular views across the adjoining park-like grounds.

I was so impressed with the presentation of this stunning family home as soon as I pulled into the private, gated drive. The entire property did not disappoint and I particularly love the distant views to the rear over adjoining park like grounds, seeing some deer in the distance on my first visit was an additional bonus!
