Further Information

A unique contemporary residence c. 3,945 sq ft (366.5 sq m.) with old world charm on an elevated setting with 4½ acres of landscaped gardens, paddock, tennis court, only 5 mins drive from both the M7 & M9, it has wonderful south facing views over the Curragh Plains (4,500 acres) and local stud farms.

Commissioned and designed by Architect Paul Brazil in 2010 to an exceptionally high specification and finish, it needs to be viewed to be appreciated.

Foxwood is privately positioned behind a high timber fence with beech hedging. Once through the walled entrance gates, a sweeping tree lined avenue leads to the front of the house. The exterior is elegantly designed with wonderful proportions and the house was built entirely to compliment the contour of the site, thus 9 ft high ceilings at entry level and hall and steps to 11ft high ceilings in the kitchen, drawing room and dining room.
Every detail has been well thought through and the best of materials used. The windows are Marvin Architectural (with extra security locking); all the joinery is bespoke by Seabury Furniture; there is Kilkenny limestone flooring, Belgium smoked oak flooring and underfloor heating on the ground floor with thermostats in each room.

The most enjoyable part of the house is the sense of space which has been created by the high ceilings and the plentiful light pouring through the French doors. The simplicity of the layout creates versified space where the reception rooms work together, for both entertaining purposes and for everyday living. There are internal sliding recessed doors between the kitchen / drawing room / dining room ensuring the excellent flow.

Foxwood extends to approx. 4.5 acres and the grounds are landscaped to accentuate the accommodation of the house but also to frame the house within its gardens. The separate detached studio extends to approx. 1,400 sq ft. and was cleverly designed so that it can adapt to what ones wants, be it a home office, gym, extra accommodation, games room etc.

The Garage / Studio (133 sq mt / 1432 sq ft) is currently used as a playroom but ideally suitable as a gym, office, granny flat or additional accommodation. It has been fitted with Marvin windows and is in keeping with the main house.
The gardens and ground have been professionally designed, beautifully laid out with low maintenance in mind. Mainly in lawn with beach gravelled drive, there are herbaceous border and flower beds, a wonderful raised lavender bed on the extensive Kilkenny limestone terrace with south facing views over the Curragh Plains and stud farms. The post and railed paddock offers good shelter and is ideal for stables with easy access to the Curragh Plains.
