    Local information

    • Terryduff is located on the southern shores of Lough Conn just 3km north of Pontoon Bridge and 19km from Castlebar where the property enjoys uninterrupted lakeshore views. Situated on a private site and accessed via a tree lined short avenue, the house sits amongst unspoilt countryside ensuring complete privacy.
    • The surrounding area comprises largely of undeveloped farmland with feature stone walls and it is a really charming part of Co. Mayo. This location is a fisherman's dream with excellent game fishing as Lough Conn is considered to be Ireland's premier wild brown trout angling fishery. There is also excellent fishing on Lough Cullin in addition to the River Moy. Both Castlebar and Ballina are two large neighbouring towns with an abundance of good restaurants, hotels, shops and pubs.
    • Lough Carra (39km), which extends for over 9km along its long axis, is one of the best examples in Ireland of a hard water marl lake. The lake provides excellent habitat for Otter and White-clawed Crayfish which are two species that are listed on Annex II of the E.U. The lake and lakeshore area have been designated a Special Area of Conservation under the EU Habitat Directive.
    • The area is long renowned for its fishing, championship golf at Castlebar and sailing and water pursuits of Clew Bay and Killala Bay.
