    • Over is situated approximately one and a half miles north west of the Cathedral city of Gloucester. Over was once the site of a Roman vineyard, where a roman bridge connected the village to Alney Island, then an abbot's house and finally a civil war fort, the earthworks of which are still visible on the 11 1/2 acre field now jointly owned by the residents of Stauntons Hill.
    • Over sits above the River Severn providing an excellent viewing point for the Severn Bore. The Hereford and Worcester Canal, currently being restored, starts at Over Lock and runs for half a mile from Over Lock (not in use). Over Farmshop with local farm produce is a short walk away.
