    About this property

    • Occupying a particularly excellent position in the heart of the enchanting and picturesque village of Walberswick, Harbour Lodge is an attractive, modern house, which has been built to an impressive standard using traditional and artisan building methods.

Harmonious with the vernacular of the village, Harbour Lodge has handsome redbrick elevations, with handmade William Blyth pantiles, dormer windows and black weatherboarding.

The accommodation flows remarkably well, comprising wonderfully proportioned and light filled rooms with high ceilings.

The front door opens into a generous reception hall with striking curved walls, wide wooden floorboards, and an oak staircase, which leads to the bedroom accommodation on the first floor.

Partially glazed double doors lead to the elegantly proportioned, triple aspect sitting room, with a herringbone floor and a handsome chimneypiece of reclaimed Suffolk red bricks and an oak bressummer with an inset wood burning stove.

The bespoke kitchen by acclaimed luxury kitchen designer Rencraft features hand built cabinetry, Silestone work surfaces, Rangemaster Nexus cooker with an induction hob, sink and prep sink; integrated Neff appliances include a combination oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.

This triple-aspect room is flooded with natural light, with two sets of bi-folding doors out to the garden and terrace. At the heart of the kitchen is an island with a breakfast bar; the kitchen opens out to a generous dining area with a wood burning stove.

The snug offers a further - more relaxed and intimate - reception room with a further wood-burning stove. Completing the ground floor are the laundry/boot room, shower room and lavatory.

The first floor consists of four generous double bedrooms - two of which, including the principal bedroom, have en suites - and the family bathroom. The vaulted, double aspect principal bedroom has significant wardrobe storage and a separate dressing area.

      Gardens
Harbour Lodge sits within grounds of about half an acre. Bi-folding doors from the kitchen lead to a generous terrace, ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining, with steps down to the lawn. The beautiful, principally lawned, rear gardens have herbaceous and shrub borders, and a selection of fruit trees.

      Annexe, Garage & Parking
There is a useful larch clad annexe with a kitchen, studio bedroom and shower room.

Harbour Lodge has an attractive permeable resin bound gravel drive with granite curbs offering ample parking for multiple cars and leading to the double garage.

In the heart of one my favourite villages on the Suffolk coast, Harbour Lodge is an especially attractive detached house. I love bespoke kitchen and elegantly proportioned sitting room. Within grounds of about half an acre, Harbour Lodge also has beautiful gardens.
