About this property

  • Originally a bungalow constructed in the late 1960s, Bruachan became a two-storey property in 1997 when two spacious rooms were created in the loft.

At the heart of the house a bright and welcoming open plan living / dining room has floor to ceiling glazing framing the lovely view and incorporating a sliding door onto the terrace. It is a fabulous room in the summer and a gas fire warms it in the colder months. The living room is open plan to the dining area which usefully also connects to the kitchen. The neat kitchen has white units and a white tiled floor with space for a dining table. Its windows look over the pretty garden at the front entrance of the house. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms, both with large windows and fitted wardrobes, as well as a family bathroom. The reception hall provides access to all these rooms and has a timber staircase leading to the upper floor where there is a surprisingly spacious and comfortable sitting room. Large velux windows fill the room with light and provide a superb view over the garden to the loch. Storage space has been built into the eaves and an electric stove has been set on a stone hearth at one end of the room. On the other side of the landing there is a similarly bright double bedroom which has an en suite shower room.

    Outside
Bruachan has a particularly colourful and charming garden which is tidy and well kept. White painted gates open to a tarmac driveway where there is space to park beside a double garage. Steps lead down through terraced herbaceous borders filled with azaleas, geraniums and heathers amongst a whole variety of colourful plants. A series of shallow steps leads down the side of the garden to the rear of the house which is mainly lawn edged with neatly clipped shrubs (including rhododendrons) and hedge plants that provide privacy and shelter. A raised terrace accessible from the main living room is an idyllic spot to sit out in good weather.
