    About this property

    • St Margaret's dates from 1865 and was originally the manse to St Margaret's church. It is believed to be one of the first houses built in Taybridge Road. The house retains a great many traditional features such as its part leaded windows, window shutters, fireplaces, and cornicing. The entrance porch has original floor tiles and stained-glass windows and leads into the hall. The original carved staircase leads to four double bedrooms, a bathroom, and a shower room. The double bedrooms at the front of the house have a commanding view across the putting green to Shiehallion. A useful floored attic, previously fitted out as an office, is accessible by a hatch ladder from the landing. The rear of the house includes a kitchen which has room for a dining table. This leads to a utility room and door to the back garden where there is also a covered outdoor seating area. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a breakfast room, cloakroom and shower room on the ground floor, as well as a separately accessed first floor double bedroom. St Margaret's has for many years been a much-loved home and with further sensitive updating has potential to be one of the finest houses in the centre of Aberfeldy.

      Outside
St Margaret's sits centrally in 0.42 acres of mature garden. A pedestrian gate from Taybridge Road leads to the front door whilst the driveway leads to the back door and parking behind the house. A neatly clipped beech hedge forms a boundary around the garden which is planted with various carefully matched plants, trees, and shrubs. Mature trees at the bottom of the garden provide privacy and shelter whilst roses, wisteria, and clematis adorn the walls of the house. Behind the house is a sunny terrace, ideal for sitting out. There is also a substantial studio with carport, externally garden stores, a greenhouse, and raised beds offering much potential for the garden to be productive.
