Location
Beautifully situated Grade II listed five bedroom home with stunning gardens, outbuildings and land.
The Pent is a delightful Grade II property of immense charm and character, the original part of which is thought to date from the 17th century with later additions in the early 19th and 21st centuries. This five bedroom property, which was once home to amongst others, the famous novelist Joseph Conrad from 1898 to 1907, is now coming to the open market for the first time in over 100 years.
It nestles amidst stunning gardens which have been lovingly designed and planted by the current owners and together with a tennis court, an orchard, several fields, a substantial detached two storey barn, further outbuildings and an aircraft hangar with capacity for three aircraft, it is the perfect package.
Of further note are the environmental attributes including an Ökofen Pellematic Biomass Boiler, solar photovoltaic panels with the remainder of a 25 year warranty from 2012 and with a feed in tariff through EDF and a shared private springwater supply.
Internally, accessed via the front entrance hall, The Pent boasts a wealth of features, including exposed beams, lovely inglenook fireplaces to the principal reception rooms with Chesney and Villager wood burning stoves and a fine oak framed extension with mansard roof, incorporates the garden room with under floor heating and engineered oak flooring.
The kitchen/breakfast room has an LPG fired four oven Aga with back boiler, a four ring electric hob and oven, integral fridge and freestanding dishwasher. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a study, a utility room, an excellent larder with shelving, a cloakroom, a boot room and a home office.
There are five good sized bedrooms on the first floor together with two bathrooms and a shower room, two being en suite. All of the bedrooms enjoy a lovely outlook over the gardens.

I really love the location of this beautiful family home, everything is easily accessible but there is still very much of a rural countryside vibe going on and it really doesn't leave one wanting for much!
