Location
A stylish and substantial family home in gardens of about 1.58 acres, on the edge of a charming village.
This substantial and beautifully presented family home of over 4500 sq ft is situated on the pleasant semi-rural edge of Great Limber, a charming village on the A18 surrounded by spectacular countryside. The property occupies a generous plot of about 1.58 acres, including tennis court and an orchard. Originally constructed in 1968, the house is attractively presented in a mix of the original Mid Century Modern décor and newer additions; it was extended in 2015 and the former car port converted to a snug and the principal bedroom. The house was redecorated throughout and solar photovoltaics, water heater and mechanical ventilation system added, plus extra insulation.
The generously proportioned accommodation is well thought out and offers a variety of reception spaces, homeworking areas and space for relaxing as a family. The décor has a Scandinavian feel and is light and airy, with large windows to frame the views over the gardens. There are four separate entrances to the house, from the gardens, rear terrace, behind the garage and the front parking area. The house is entered onto a large dining hall which is central to the reception rooms, study, open plan kitchen and dining room, which has an American-style fridge freezer and an electric AGA. There's a separate office and to the rear, a pantry, storage area, cloakroom and utility. Upstairs, the principal bedroom has a dressing room and en suite bathroom with both bath and shower. The remaining three bedrooms share a family bathroom.
The sizeable plot envelops the house and its attached garage, which is fronted by a large driveway accessed via electric gates. The gardens are mostly lawned, with a large terrace to the rear and there's an orchard with apple and plum trees. Also within the very private grounds of approximately 1.58 acres, is a tennis court, which requires some improvement.

One of my favourite houses of 2024, it is such a clever modern house that has so many versatile reception spaces and all in a lovely enclosed garden, I especially like the sitting room with its floor to ceiling windows
