Refurbished three bedroom barn conversion
Babdown Farm Barns were originally built in 1847 for the Holford family who owned the Westonbirt estate. The architect is believed to have been Lewis Vulliamy who designed the enormous Westonbirt House and Babdown Farm is one of several model farms which were erected on the estate. The various barns are grouped round an attractive large, grassed courtyard and have been converted.
The Byre is nestled in the corner and is of 7 barns and 1 farmhouse which have been refurbished to a very high standard and is an idyllic country setting, just outside of Tetbury and a stone's throw away from the newly revamped Calcot Hotel & Spa.
This L shaped lateral conversion is just over 1280 sq. ft and boasts two well matured gardens either side of the barn. As you enter the barn via the inner garden facing the private courtyard you are struck by the triple height ceiling in the kitchen and sitting room and the wonderful honey kissed Cotswold stonework which creates a sense of tradition along with the exposed beam work. The large eat in kitchen has been carefully planned with plenty of storage, a large induction hob cooker, and integrated dishwasher. This space can easily accommodate a large family table for those daily routines and the log burner in the sitting room creates a cosy space for those winter evenings. Just off the kitchen is a utility room which has additional storage for boots and outdoor wear and has direct access to the secondary garden.
As you move along the corridor there are two well proportioned double bedrooms overlooking the inner garden boasting high ceilings, wooden floors and the continuation of the Cotswolds stonework. These two bedrooms are serviced by the main family bathroom. At the end of the corridor is the large principal bedroom with en suite shower and this room is a great space and perfectly situated from the main communal family living area.
With regards to external storage and parking the barn includes a fantastic garage which is ideal for storage or parking a small family sized car. There is also parking at the front of the barn.
Overall The Byre is a very light and spacious space to occupy and the lateral design allows for the barn to flow very well and couple that with the high ceilings throughout you do truly feel you are living in a very comfortable attractive home.
