About this property

  • The house was built in 1975 on the site of an old Weavers Cottage. It is built of harled block under a red tiled roof with crow stepped gables. It has a traditional appearance with six windows on its street facing façade with the front door in the wing to the side.

The accommodation internally is well finished with an excellent layout for modern family life. There is a WC off the hall with two storage cupboards and stairs up to the first floor. The dining room is in the centre of the house and adjoins the kitchen. The kitchen has an AGA, Miele microwave and Bosch dishwasher. The utility room has a small Bosch drinks fridge. There is a new garden room with windows on three sides and wet underfloor heating. A large and impressive drawing room is accessed from the dining area and has working shutters and a new wood burner with fully lined flue.

The principal bedroom with its dressing room runs from the front to the back of the house and has an en suite bathroom and two built-in double wardrobes. There is also a press cupboard in the opposite corner. There are two further bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower on this floor. Both bathrooms are fitted with a Villeroy & Boch bath and Imperial sink as well as underfloor heating and working shutters. Bedroom 2 has a built-in closet and shelving. On the second floor is an attic bedroom with a study area.

    Outside

To the side of the house is a gravel parking area in front of a garage, with the steps to the front door beside.

The utility room opens to a covered area with an outside store beyond. There is a further garden shed in the corner of the garden. There is a paved terrace outside the garden room which links into a paved outside sitting area with a pergola.

The main garden is to the north of the house and has recently been landscaped with a large lawn fringed by herbaceous borders and shrubs. There is a gravel area to the side. At the bottom of the garden is a gate onto a footpath which leads through the fields behind.

Works done to the house include partial re-roofing with two new gullies and insulation. Two new bathrooms have underfloor heating and a new pressurised hot water system with a large hot water tank. The conservatory has underfloor heating and electric blinds. There is a new downstairs WC and double glazing to all the front windows.
