About this property

  • Cliffside offers a unique opportunity to own a front-line coastal property with stunning sea views from every room. Planning Permission (ref: 0323/22/HHO – www.southhams.gov.uk) has been granted for a two storey extension to provide garaging, en suite facilities and an additional bedroom.
Currently, Cliffside is arranged over two floors and provides two double bedrooms on the ground floor as well as a family bathroom. Stairs rise from the entrance hall to the fabulous full width, open plan living / dining room. Sliding doors lead to the generous wrap around balcony which provides the most exquisite views across the Bay and to the Lighthouse and is the perfect spot for alfresco dining. The kitchen is well equipped with a range of units and appliances and again benefits from wonderful sea views.
There are two double bedrooms on this floor and a Jack and Jill bathroom to the principal bedroom.

    Gardens and Grounds
Outside, the garden at Cliffside is largely laid to lawn and provides a number of seating areas to take in the breathtaking views and there is also direct access onto the South West Coast Path. Cliffside is approached through a five bar gate which leads to the driveway which offers ample parking for a number of cars.

Local information

  • Beesands is a charming fishing village which sits on the beautiful Start Bay between Slapton Sands and the Start Point Lighthouse. Nestled between the sea and the freshwater lake of Widdicombe Ley, the beautiful former fishermans' cottages stretch along the mile long shingle beach. The laid back, unspoilt nature of the village means that it is popular with locals and visitors and still retains a local fishing community all with the backdrop of the rolling South Hams' countryside.
  • Situated right on the South West Coast Path, the village is also popular with walkers and both the Cricket Inn and award-winning shellfish restaurant Britannia at The Beach offer locally produced food and a friendly atmosphere.
  • Beesands is also close to Stokenham, Chillington and Frogmore, thriving and vibrant villages offering between them a health centre, a number of pubs, a post office / general store, a hair dressing salon, a farm shop with café, deli, butchers and craft brewery. Frogmore Creek in the village of Frogmore provides access to the Kingsbridge and Salcombe Estuary. The larger market town of Kingsbridge is less than 4 miles distant and the waterfront town of Dartmouth is about 9 miles distant – both towns are linked via a regular bus service which passes through the villages. The nearest secondary school is the highly respected Kingsbridge Community College (KCC) which has been rated as ‘outstanding' by OFSTED, as is Stokenham Primary School.
