About this property

  • With white rendered elevations and contemporary architecture, Poplars offers a light-filled, flexible living environment with a neutral colour palette which creates an oasis of calm ideally suited to modern lifestyles, benefiting from an all year round sunny surrounding. An entrance door with stained glass window design opens into a spacious reception hall which gives access into a drawing room with bay window alcove and a feature fireplace. French doors open to the garden terrace and the adjoining flexible-use study also offers an easy transition to the outside. The bright kitchen/breakfast room is fitted with sleek, white cabinetry, topped with stone work surfaces and features integrated appliances and an island unit, with an adjoining utility room providing additional storage and a home for domestic appliances. Dining can be enjoyed alongside French doors which offer views to the garden and open to extend the inside environment to the outside. A separate family room completes the ground floor facilities.

On the first floor, the principal bedroom benefits from an outlook to the south-easterly aspect and has an adjoining dressing room and smart en suite shower room. There are three further bedrooms and a modern family bathroom.

Evergreen hedging to boundaries provides a natural border and a sense of seclusion. The property is approached via a private lane and gravelled driveway onto an area for parking at the frontage of the house and the detached garaging. A large, paved terrace adjoins the rear of the house with direct access from reception areas offering opportunities for outdoor dining and entertaining. Low brick walls create a defined edge to the terrace with access points onto the swathe of lawn which is framed by specimen trees and provides the perfect space for children's play.

Local information

  • On the southern fringes of Henley, Harpsden is a highly regarded, semi-rural South Oxfordshire village, which is surrounded by glorious countryside providing opportunities for walking and riding. The Thameside town of Henley is close by offering a comprehensive range of retail, leisure and cultural facilities, whilst excellent schooling in the vicinity includes Rupert House, Shiplake College, Queen Anne's in Caversham and The Oratory. For commuters, Henley station provides regular services to Reading, via Twyford, to London Paddington (Inter-City services approximately 25 minutes). More extensive facilities can be found in Reading, where Crossrail's Elizabeth line starts and Oxford approximately 26 miles. The M4 and M40 motorways are easily accessible and provide onward journeys for road-users to London, Heathrow Airport, the M25 and the West Country.
