About this property

  • Built in 1860, Cherry Tree Cottage is a fine example of a Victorian cottage and has the benefit of a river view from the garden. Access to this charming semi-detached cottage is via wooden gate with a slate path leading to the front door and extremely pretty cottage garden.

A very attractive feature of this property is the segmental arched windows and doors which appear in most of the rooms. The interior is homely and one can imagine settling down by the wood burning stove in the sitting room - perfect for winter evenings. This room takes in the staircase affording a high ceiling and a good feeling of light and space.

The kitchen features a selection of base units and is equipped with an oil fired Rayburn, servicing heating, hot water and cooking. The kitchen leads through to a beautifully light conservatory currently being used as a dining room and seating area. There are many options with this space such as to entertain dinner guests, undertake hobbies or could equally be a work from home space.

Upstairs the main double bedroom is to the front of the house with a built-in wardrobe. Another bedroom is positioned on the back of the house as is the family bathroom which has a bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.

A particular feature of this home is the garden, mainly laid to lawn and with an array of seating areas, especially the decked seating area which overlooks the river rother. Fence panels secure and denote the garden boundaries. The property also benefits from an approximately 20ft outbuilding, offering a versatile space with power and light. A garden shed also offers that extra bit of garden storage.

With its thoughtful design and charming gardens, this property offers a delightful rural setting with easy access to the countryside, which I adore.
