About this property

  • Lilac Cottage is a beautiful Georgian village cottage under a clay pantile roof within an idyllic conservation area on the outskirts of York.

The well-presented living space is arranged over two floors and combines character features with modern embellishments. Salient points include exposed ceiling timbers, working cast iron range, wood burning stove, modern kitchen and bathroom suites. Also of note is the off road parking and attractive front and rear gardens.

The kitchen is equipped with a range of base units with a snug area overlooking the front garden with a delightful cast iron range. Completing the ground floor is a separate sitting room with wood burning stove to the front of the house and a useful shower room.

On the first floor is the principal bedroom of generous proportion, a separate dressing room that could be used as an additional bedroom or a home office with a pleasant outlook over the front garden. There are two further good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Lilac Cottage is accessed via wooden gates on to a hard standing driveway to the front providing off street parking with a pretty lawned garden with herbaceous and perennial borders. There is an established rear garden featuring a lawned area with a variety of mature shrubs and borders. Two paved terraced areas both provide ideal al fresco entertaining areas.
