About this property

  • Edina was built in 1868 by ancestors of the drapers that once operated in Alyth. In 2020 the house suffered a fire and was largely re-built in 2021. The interior has been completely renewed and the property is now in walk-in condition. Externally it has a pleasing symmetrical façade with tall sash and case windows and decorative finials on its gables. The front door is accessed via the garden path off Victoria Street. However currently the main entrance to Edina is via its back door from Albert Street. The utility/back porch opens into a fabulous L-shaped open plan dining kitchen. Glazed double doors link the kitchen to the sitting room which has a wood burning stove and is a lovely space for entertaining. The rooms are lofty and the south facing windows of the sitting room fill the house with light. The central hallway provides access to three double bedrooms all on the eastern side of the property. The smallest bedroom has an en suite WC and there is also a bathroom with shower.

Outside- Edina sits in just over a third of an acre of garden. It has a west facing veranda with an orning beside french windows from the kitchen. There is lots of space for outbuildings and great potential. On the eastern side of the house are raised beds and there is also a greenhouse.

Outbuildings - Garage, new greenhouse, two timber sheds and a large wood store.
