About this property

  • Built by the prestigious and award winning national developer Berkely Homes in 1991, this superb family home offers 2223 sq ft of bright, well planned accommodation and is presented in fine order throughout. On first visiting, both the size and beauty of the garden may well be a surprise, cleverly landscaped to make the very most of the interesting levels and a wonderful colourful backdrop to be enjoyed from all ground floor receptions and the majority of bedrooms.

A paved driveway with parking for a number of cars leads to an entrance via a canopied porch to a central hallway with ground floor cloakroom. The sitting room in over 20' in length with a bright triple aspect and double doors open into a generous L-shaped conservatory. A feature brick fireplace incorporates a stove effect living flame gas fire. There are two further ground floor receptions, including a good size family room set immediately adjacent to the kitchen – perfect for those needing to keep a close eye on young children, or an alternative relaxed room for entertaining family and friends and a generously proportioned dining room right at the heart of the property. The kitchen is smartly fitted with Silestone work surfaces and breakfast bar and includes an integrated double oven, a five burner gas hob, an integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher. From the separate utility room, an internal door opens directly into the double garage which features an electric, remote controlled roller door.

On the first floor, there are five bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes and in addition to the family bathroom the principal bedroom has a well-appointed ensuite with bath and separate shower.

As mentioned, the garden is very special. Heavily planted with mature evergreen and flowering shrubs, a curved wall bounds a neatly tended level lawn with suntrap terrace and a lovely flight of steps leading up to a further lawn that winds past colourful borders to the elevated summerhouse in the top corner with power and light. To the side of the house is another area of sheltered lawn with a pergola and timber shed, again with power and light. This would make a fine spot for an outdoor home office if so desired.

Berkeley Homes have a terrific reputation for design premium houses and on first visiting I was pleased to note that particular one is as good as hoped and expected. There is a great logic to the layout which flows particularly well and I love the large garden with its many different areas in which to entertain and relax.
