    About this property

    • Occupying a wonderful position in the heart of Dunwich, a particularly pretty coastal village with a fascinating history, Church Farm is a superb Victorian house with beautiful south-facing gardens and two-bedroom annexe.

Dating from 1882, the handsome red brick house is Grade II listed for special architectural and historic interest, retaining many excellent period features including mullion windows and richly ornamented scalloped bargeboarding.

Internally, the accommodation flows exceptionally well, comprising wonderfully proportioned and light filled rooms with high ceilings.

The elegantly proportioned drawing room has wide wooden floorboards, picture rail and an attractive stone chimneypiece.

The games room and garden room provide two further reception spaces - ideal for relaxing and entertaining. The games room also features an open fireplace, while the garden room can also be used as a dining room.

The double aspect kitchen/dining room features a bespoke kitchen by Luxmoore & Co. with quartz work surfaces, Mercury range with an induction hob; there is a large dining area.

There are four double bedrooms - two of which have en suites - and a family bathroom on the first and second floor; the principal bedroom is particularly fine with delightful views.

There is a self-contained, two-bedroom annexe, ideal for multi-generational living, with a kitchen, sitting room and family bathroom. The annexe has been used as a holiday let to provide an additional income.

Church Farm has beautiful, principally lawned gardens with shrub and herbaceous borders, and an array of mature and specimen trees; there is extensive parking for numerous cars over a shingle drive.

Church Farm is a superb Victorian house in the wonderfully pretty village of Dunwich, one of my favourite coastal locations. I love the wealth of period charm, the high ceilings and fantastic kitchen/dining room.
