Location
A well-appointed family home with attractive gardens, in a semi-rural position overlooking beautiful countryside.
The Ridings is a attractive family home set on a desirable no-through road. Built in 2001, the property has a charming appearance that blends with the older properties of the village. Internally it is delightfully modern with country-inspired features including a farmhouse style kitchen, wood and tile floors and wood doors which match the attractive staircase. Outside there's plenty of parking, good storage and a garage, with pretty cottage gardens to the front and rear.
With its generously proportioned rooms and versatile layout, The Ridings is the ideal family home and offers a wealth of space for various family sizes. The house was built to the vendor's own specifications and has been updated over the years to keep it feeling contemporary and fresh, including an en suite, improvements to the kitchen and cosmetic updates throughout. The ground floor is accessed by a hallway running front to back, opening onto the garden via a set of French doors. The living room is quadruple aspect, with an open plan kitchen and dining room with views to the front and rear. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with a double 'pie crust' Belfast sink, Falcon range oven and hanging storage for pots over the island, with an adjoining utility room and WC. Leading from the utility room there is a family room with French doors which open on to the patio area and a rear staircase to the bedroom above. The main staircase leads up from the entrance hall to the first floor and four good-size bedrooms. The principal bedroom has a dressing room and en suite while the other three bedrooms share a family bathroom.
The house is the penultimate property on Kennel Lane, with open countryside to the front and rear over which there are attractive views. The front garden is enclosed by a low wall, with parking outside the boundary and within a gated area in front of the attached garage, which has a useful storage area connecting it to the house. The rear garden is attractively landscaped with a wide stone terrace adjoining the house and a good-size lawn culminating in a mature hedge and a tall oak tree. There is access nearby to the Georgie Twigg Track, an off-road cycle route that links to the nearby Sustrans Route 64 cycle path for a car-free route into central Lincoln.

Doddington is one of my favourite villages on the edge of Lincoln and The Ridings is a wonderful family home which sits on a generous plot backing onto open fields, what I really like is the quadruple aspect living room with the log burner.
