  • This characterful three bay, T plan house with detached steading is located within the Glen Tanar estate, a much sought after estate in Royal Deeside. Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, a Manchester banker and MP bought the estate in 1869. George Truefitt was commissioned as the architect, and 250 masons and workers were employed to construct the estate buildings, built of locally quarried granite. Truefitt designed a variety of Art and Crafts, imaginatively designed buildings including several farms, steadings and Farmhouses. Although there is no firm evidence indicating that Truefitt designed Little Tulloch, the masonry techniques, unusual proportions and distinctive detailing strongly suggest that he did.
